Artwork
This work serves as a compelling embodiment of the central concerns of Mira Elkhalil’s recent exhibition. It presents the Holiday Inn as an omniscient presence within the world the artist safeguards through her paintings. The color palette reflects her ongoing dialogue with British artistic influences. Communication emerges as a recurring visual and conceptual element throughout the composition. Together, these elements reinforce the atmosphere and nostalgic narrative of Beirut that define her recent body of work as a whole.
